   The Pottery

Each pottery piece is a handcrafted, one of a kind creation by North Carolina potter Vanessa Baughman.   I use techniques of wheel throwing, hand building or both together; and most of my designs come from the many wonders of nature.   The clay I use is medium to high fire (2,280°F-2,370°F) clays in brown and white colorations.   Most glazes are made at our studio.   All the glazes are non-toxic, dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe (preheat with oven) unless labeled with a [lead-glaze] mark.

We have just transformed our shed into a pottery studio and gallery, which has always been a dream of mine.  We call it the "pottery shed."   If you are in the area and would like to stop by, feel free to make an appointment by using the Contact Us page.

Every fall we have an Open House which gives my clients the ability to shop around in the atmosphere of the “pottery shed" and see the aspects of pottery design and glaze making.   One benefit of the open house is that 30% of sales go towards your choice of 4 charities.   Check out Charities We Support page for more information.

I hope you enjoy each piece with its unique aesthetics, feel, and function.

Our studio is about 1.5 hours Northeast of Seagrove the pottery mecca of North Carolina.
